Searching for Inspiration...

Some of you reading this may be pregnant teens who are struggling and wondering how you ever will get through this stage in your life. Some of you reading this may have already gone through it, and have no idea how you made it, but you did. After sharing the story of one inspirational teen mother with you (last post), I'd like to help more of you share your story. If you have an inspirational story or piece of advice you'd like to share, please leave a comment with your email address or some other way I can contact you. Then, you can write your story and I'll post it here-- as inspiration for those who have been in a similar situation.

Either you've made it through or you're still struggling, but either way-- You CAN do it. Some of you already have. Kudos to you. If you know you can do it but don't know how, please check out the resources on this blog.

A Source of Inspiration

Diane Garnick is a source of inspiration for me. She is one of the top names in Wall Street today, as well as an author. She had a daughter in high school, and despite earning several scholarships, was denied the ability to go to college because of her daughter. So she worked and saved, and paid her own way through college- and now both her and her daughter are extremely successful. Resources for Pregnant Teens

For those of you looking for the old Teen Gravid blog with my personal experiences as a pregnant teen (and now, teen mother!), I have moved it here. I also share resources for finding name-brand baby products for free or at affordable prices. Once again, a big thank-you to all my loyal (and helpful!) readers, and I hope you follow the new blog.

I am renewing this blog to provide websites and resources for others who are in a similar situation I am in/ was in-- teen moms, pregnant high schoolers and college students, etc. Hopefully, soon Teen Gravid will be more organized with different sections for resources for different situations (counseling, adoption services, social services for keeping your baby, etc), but for now, here is a hodge podge of resources I've found useful:

Parents, Anonymous: If you didn't have that great of a childhood and want to keep from repeating the nightmare with your own children, this is a good resource for you.

Women, Infants, Children: A government program providing food and nutrition counseling for pregnant women, women with infants, breastfeeding women, and children.

Planned Parenthood: If you need to find out whether or not you're pregnant, or just found out and don't know what to do, Planned Parenthood can help.

Parents as Teachers: Sign up for this free service before you give birth to help your child reach developmental milestones and ensure he or she has the best chances in life.

Birth Mom Missions: Advice and support if you're thinking about adoption.

Hopefully these resources can help you out if you need them, and I should have some more up soon (with some more organization, so you can find exactly the resources that will answer the questions you have and provide you with the information you need). And if you ever need to talk, leave a message and some way I can contact you.

Thank you for following me blog and reading for the last 9 months! It's been a great time! I've appreciated every word of support and encouragement that has helped me get through this, every Google Ad click that has helped me afford to stock up on diapers, every helpful link or resource you have shared with me, and just knowing you care enough to read! You guys are great and I wish I could thank every one of you individually.

I will keep blogging about my experiences, now as a teen mom, at the Name Brand Mommy Blog. As you know, I am really tight on cash, but I still want the best for my baby Sophie. On my blog, I share resources I've found for getting freebies, coupons, free samples, and special deals on name-brand products. Of course, there's also the little blurbs about our new life together and of course, pictures.

I gave birth to Sophie Ann at 9:24 am on September 4 after 17 hours of labor. She was 20 1/4 inches long and weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces. Pictures will follow soon.
